Snowstorm only brings 1 inch
About an inch of snow fell on Spokane from Tuesday afternoon through this morning, making the morning commute slick.
The Washington State Patrol reported multiple weather-related crashes in the Spokane region Wednesday morning.
Earlier forecasts suggested as much as 4 inches could fall.
No school districts in Spokane County were affected by the snow, but some districts mostly to the south of Spokane delayed or canceled, including Pullman, Rosalia and St. John-Endicott which announced 2-hour delays.
Snow showers are possible for Wednesday, but little accumulation is expected, said Joey Clevenger, National Weather Service meteorologist.
The next snowstorm is expected on Friday when 1 to 2 inches could fall during the day and another 1 to 3 inches at night.
Temperatures are expected to remain at or below freezing through at least Tuesday.
“We are staying cold,” Clevenger said. “We’re averaging about 10 degrees below normal for February up to this point.”
