Gonzaga drops baseball doubleheader at Cal State Northridge

Gonzaga collected 22 hits Sunday but dropped a doubleheader to host Cal State Northridge in Los Angeles, 7-4 and 15-12, on Sunday.

Ryan Sullivan led the Bulldogs (2-6) with five hits and four RBIs over the two games. Josh Bristyan had four hits, including three doubles, and two RBIs. Guthrie Morrison had four hits and an RBI. Troy Johnson had four RBIs and two hits.

Sullivan, Johnston and Nick Nyquist homered in the second game but Northridge came up with a nine-run fifth inning to overcome a 6-2 Gonzaga lead and added two-run innings in the sixth and seven to weather a Bulldogs rally in the seventh and eighth.

In the opener, Gonzaga scored three run in the first but the Matadors (5-3) came back with three runs in the second and third innings.
