Jaret Anderson-Dolan nets overtime winner as Chiefs top Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE, British Columbia – Jaret Anderson-Dolan scored with 1 minute left in overtime, and the Spokane Chiefs survived a wild third period to beat the Prince George Cougars 4-3 Tuesday at CN Centre.

Jake McGrew opened the scoring for Spokane (32-19-2-5, 71 points) 8:27 into the game with a one-timer from the right circle.

The game remained at 1-0 until the third period, when Jackson Leppard and Rhett Rhinehart tallied 4 minutes apart to put the Cougars (17-36-5-3, 42) on top.

Egor Arbuzoc and Filip Kral answered for the Chiefs before Prince George pulled goalie Taylor Gauthier and scored with the extra man through Josh Maser with 1:13 to go.

Anderson-Dolan rattled in the winner off the post 3:58 into the extra session to improve the Chiefs to 6-2 in overtime games this season. Eli Zummack picked up a secondary assist, pushing his points streak to 14 games. Reece Klassen made 25 saves.

Spokane is 3-0 against Prince George this season. The teams will face off again Wednesday. The Chiefs can clinch a playoff berth with a win or a Kamloops loss.
