Post Falls man accused of shooting at police during high-speed chase

A Post Falls man with a long rap sheet is accused of shooting at police, crashing through a fence and throwing drug paraphernalia from his car during a high-speed chase early Saturday, KHQ reported.

Christian A. Reynolds appeared in court Monday on numerous charges, including aggravated assault, drug trafficking and driving under the influence.

Prosecutors said Reynolds sped away after a traffic stop in Rathdrum. Police officers and sheriff’s deputies pursued him through Athol and Hayden before he was arrested near Government Way and Honeysuckle Avenue.

During the chase, Reynolds allegedly fired a .45-caliber pistol and swerved to avoid spike strips, nearly hitting two deputies, KHQ reported. No law enforcement officers were injured.
