Boys basketball: Brandton Chatfield’s 20 points leads Clarkston over West Valley and into first place

Brandton Chatfield scored 20 points and visiting Clarkston (7-6, 6-2) defeated West Valley (10-5, 3-4) in a Great Northern League game on Saturday.

The win puts Clarkston on top of the GNL standings.

Nick Drynan led West Valley with 15 points and Bryan Andrews added on 11 points. Tru Allen added 15 points for Clarkston.

Cheney 63, Pullman 60: Camden Verstrate scored 20 points to lead the Blackhawks (10-6, 5-3) over the Greyhounds (13-3, 5-3). Jacob Wells scored 21 points to lead Pullman.

Northeast 1A

Deer Park 75, Colville 53: Jobie Gelder scored 24 points for the undefeated Stags (17-0, 9-0) in a win against the Indians (3-14, 1-8) in Saturday’s Northeast A league matchup. Isaac Burgland scored 18 points and Chase Wisinger added 11 for Deer Park. Jacob Lindquist delivered 21 points for Colville.

Freeman 65, Newport 46: Dylan Oja scored 19 points and Kaleb Ohler added 18 and the Scotties (7-9, 4-4) beat the visiting Grizzlies (13-2, 7-2). Tiegen Prange led Newport with 15 points.

Medical Lake 71, Riverside 68: Alex Stith scored 29 points and Samuel Gollehon added 18 and the visiting Cardinals (6-11, 4-5) beat the Rams (4-12, 0-8). Jaxon Betker led Riverside with 18 points and Tj Trapanier added 17.

Northeast 2B

St. George’s 74, Wilbur-Creston 41: Erik Farias scored 19 points and the Dragons (14-2, 7-0) beat the visiting Wildcats (5-8, 1-6). Kasen Bodeau led Wilbur-Creston with 18 points.

Colfax 56, Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 37: Carson Cloaninger scored 25 points and Hunter Claassen added 14 and the visiting Bulldogs (12-4, 6-1) beat the Mustangs (6-10, 2-5). Cole Cameron led Lind-Ritzville/Sprague with 10 points.

Northwest Christian 60, Davenport 41: Reed Loranger scored 18 points and the visiting Crusaders (11-5, 5-2) defeated the Gorillas (4-11, 2-4). Jake Gray scored 13 points for Northwest Christian. A.J. Floyd added 20 points for Davenport.

Asotin 52, Reardan 38: Noah Renzelman scored 14 points and the Panthers (10-7, 2-5) defeated the visiting Indians (7-8, 2-5). Zane Perleberg led Reardan with 14 points and Anddrew Alsept added 10 points. Eli Engledow scored 13 points for Asotin.

Kettle Falls 53, Chewelah 46: Charlie Andrews scored 17 points and Caden McKern added 15 and the Bulldogs (8-9, 3-4) beat the visiting Cougars (7-9, 2-4). Jaron Baldwin led Chewelah with 19 points.

Northeast 1B

Odessa 75, Republic 24: Ryan Moffet made five 3-pointers in a 29-point performance and Odessa (13-1, 9-1) beat Republic (0-15, 0-12).

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 82, Cusick 45: Hayden Loomis made ten 3-pointers and the visiting Warriors (11-3, 8-1) defeated the Panthers (10-5, 9-3). Maguire Isaak added 16 points and Reece Isaak 14 points for Almira/Coulee-Hartline. Devin Brown Eagle scored 13 points for Cusick.

Wellpinit 68, Curlew 46: Steven Ford scored 18 points and Kobe Stearns added 11 and the visiting Redskins (8-8, 7-5) beat the Cougars (4-8, 4-7). Seth Wright led Curlew with 11 points.

Southeast 1B

Oakesdale 52, Prescott 50: Wesley Castanon scored 14 points to lead the visiting Nighthawks (11-6, 8-1) over the Tigers (10-4, 4-3). Kit Hockett added 12 points for Oakesdale. Jonathan Cardenas scored 14 points and Jose Gonzales added 13 for Prescott.

Intermountain League

Kellogg 69, Priest River 34: Brennan Atkins scored 16 points and the visiting Wildcats (3-11, 1-1) defeated the Spartans (0-9, 0-2). Keegan Hegel led Priest River with 17 points and Brandon McCraken added 10. Gavin Luna scored 11 points for Kellogg.

Timberlake 58, Bonners Ferry 43: JT Wilfong scored 17 points and the visiting Tigers (4-9, 3-0) beat the Badgers (7-9, 2-2). Chris Durrette led Bonners Ferry with 10 points. Chase Gardom added 13 points and Jacob James added 11 for Timberlake. The Tigers shot 68 percent from the floor.

Central Idaho League

St. Maries 54, Orofino 19: Jackson Pritchard scored 15 points and the Lumberjacks (10-5, 1-1) beat the visiting Maniacs (7-10, 0-1). Dan Howard added 10 points for St. Maries with seven rebounds.

Nonleague

Genesis Prep 46, Wallace 35: Johnny Hillman scored 16 points and the Jaguars (8-7) defeated the visiting Miners (11-2). Jacob Schultz and Seth Neely added 10 points apiece for Genesis Prep.
