Women’s basketball roundup: Idaho rolls over Sacramento State

Mikayla Ferenz led five players in double figures with 18 points and added seven steals as Idaho (7-8, 4-2) rolled over visiting Sacramento State (6-8, 2-4) 104-66 in a Big Sky Conference game on Thursday.

The Vandals led 32-9 after the first quarter.

Lizzy Klinker added 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting for Idaho. Taylor Pierce and Gina Marxen had 16 points apiece and Isabelle Hadden added 10.

Marxen hit five 3-pointers while Ferenz and Pierce had four apiece. The Vandals went 18 of 37 (48.6 percent) from beyond the arc.

Kennedy Nicholas led Sacramento State with 18 points and 19 rebounds. Claire Bady added 13 points and Hannah Friend had 11.

The Vandals host Portland State on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Portland State 76, Eastern Washington 64: Kylie Jimenez scored 19 points, Ashley Bolston added 17 and the Vikings (14-2, 6-1 Big Sky) beat the Eagles (4-12, 3-4) before a record crowd of 4,124 at Reese Court during an afternoon Kid’s Day game.

Eastern Washington trailed by one at halftime, but Portland State used a 20-5 third-quarter run to pull away.

Sidney Rielly had 13 points, Desirae Hansen had 11 and Courtney West added 10 for the conference-leading Vikings.

Alyssa Sealby led the Eagles with 17 points. Grace Kirscher scored 16 points and Violet Kapri Morrow added 11.
