Girls basketball: Lexie Redell and Medical Lake win Northeast 1A title after beating Freeman

Lexie Redell scored nine points and Medical Lake (15-5, 11-1) beat visiting Freeman (15-5, 10-2) 40-38 to win the Northeast 1A title on Thursday. Macy Luhr led the Scotties with 10 points.

Deer Park 44, Lakeside (WA) 37: Taylor Lyons scored 18 points and the visiting Stags (15-5, 8-5) defeated the Eagles (6-14, 4-8). Kendra Gay led Lakeside with 12 points. Havelah Fairbanks added 10 points for Deer Park.

Riverside 44, Newport 40: Ava West scored a game-high 23 points and drained three late free throws and the Rams (5-15, 1-11) beat the visiting Grizzlies (3-16, 1-11). McKinley Leslie led Newport with 14 points.

Northeast 2B

Tekoa-Rosalia 52, Upper Columbia Academy 32: Elise Wilkins scored 15 points and the Timberwolves (2-18) defeated visiting Upper Columbia Academy (1-8-1) in a nonleague game.

Northeast 1B

Curlew 50, Valley Christian 37: Korin Baker and Taylor Ringstad scored 14 points apiece and the Cougars (11-6, 11-5) beat the visiting Panthers (13-6, 10-5). Phoebe Trigsted led Valley Christian with 24 points.

Selkirk 60, Republic 17: Whitney Dawson scored 22 points and the visiting Rangers (12-8, 11-4) defeated the Tigers (0-17, 0-13). Bree Dawson added 19 points for Selkirk.

Idaho

Genesis Prep 52, St. Maries 40: Rachel Schroeder scored 28 points and the Jaguars (8-10) defeated the visiting Lumberjacks (10-7) in a nonleague match. Kaci Haeg led St. Maries with 22 points.
