Before entering the studio to record their latest album, “Fire Starter,” which was released in June, the members of progressive folk trio Honeysuckle took some time to road test the songs.

According to the Boston-based trio of Chris Bloniarz, Benjamin Burns and Holly McGarry, this allowed the songs to “settle and take shape a little better” before it was time to record.

Lyrically speaking, Bloniarz, Burns and McGarry made things personal, turning to people and experiences that have shaped them over the years for inspiration.

“Anything from songs about an offhand comment by an acquaintance to a changing relationship with a childhood friend and the dramatic ways they have affected us,” the band told Atwood Magazine.
