A 29-year-old woman died and two others were injured after a head-on collision Saturday afternoon about 6 miles north of Loon Lake.
Brianna Arena, of Deer Park, was pronounced dead after her Toyota sedan crossed the centerline on U.S. Highway 395 and crashed into an oncoming Lexus SUV, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The SUV rolled and came to rest upside-down in a ditch while Arena’s sedan came to rest in the southbound lane, the WSP said.
It wasn’t immediately clear if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. The WSP said Arena was not wearing her seat belt.
The driver of the SUV, Shanna Puls-Bennett, 40, and a passenger, David Bennett, 65, both of Reardan, were injured and transported to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. Both were wearing their seat belts, the WSP said.
Puls-Bennett was treated and released and Bennett’s condition was listed as satisfactory Monday morning, a hospital spokeswoman said.
