Cheney woman dies in crash near Kittitas early Tuesday

A 55-year-old woman from Cheney died Tuesday in a crash-near Kittitas, Washington.

Virginia L. Baker was driving a 2013 Dodge Durango east on Interstate 90, 7 miles east of Kittitas at about 2 a.m. when she drove off the roadway, through a fence and down a small embankment, according to a news release from Washington State Patrol.

Baker was wearing a seat belt, but did not survive the crash.

No other vehicles were involved, and WSP is investigating the cause of the crash.
