Dayton man killed in car crash near Tekoa

A 61-year-old Dayton man died in a single-vehicle accident two miles south of Tekoa on Wednesday morning.

Robb Freer was driving northbound on state Highway 27 in Whitman County in a silver 1992 Toyota pickup when he crossed the roadway and struck a tree at about 9:45 a.m., according to a news release from WSP.

Freer was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was reportedly wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
