Gonzaga Prep’s Tommy Kimmel shot 2-over 74 to claim the only available spot in U.S. Junior Amateur qualifying Tuesday at The Club at Rock Creek in Coeur d’Alene.
Kimmel advanced to the U.S. Junior Amateur from July 15-20 at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio.
Kimmel, the Greater Spokane League’s player of the year as a sophomore, birdied the last three holes to earn medalist honors by one shot over Davenport’s Kristof Panke.
G-Prep’s Nate Plaster and Moscow’s Bryden Brown tied for seventh.
