Minor League Report: Tuesday’s Northwest League and Texas Rangers affiliate results

Northwest League

Spokane 8, Salem-Keizer 3: Starling Joseph drove in three runs and the visiting Indians beat the Volcanoes 8-3 in the second of a four-game series Tuesday.

Joseph went 1 for 3 with two walks and scored twice and Jonah McReynolds went 2 for 4 with a run and RBI. Cristian Inoa and David Garcia had two hits apiece for the Indians (4-1).

Starter Florencio Serrano’s night ended after 1 2/3 innings. He allowed three runs on three hits and three walks with two strikeouts and three stolen bases against.

Juan Mejia earned the win with 3 1/3 innings of shutout relief. He allowed one hit, no walks and struck out two. Teodoro Ortega added two scoreless relief innings with no hits and two strikeouts.

Boise 7, Everett 2: Ezequiel Tovar and Zach Hall homered in a four-run eighth inning and the Hawks (2-3) beat the visiting AquaSox (2-3). Trey Jacobs, Joe Aeilts and Bladimir Restituyo had three hits each for Boise. Everett starter Kelvin Nunez allowed six hits over five shutout innings.

Eugene 6, Vancouver 5: Jake Slaughter’s two-run single in the top of the 10th inning lifted the visiting Emeralds (2-3) over the Canadians (2-3). Slaughter finished 2 for 5 while Caleb Knight and Fernando Kelli added two hits apiece for Eugene.

Hillsboro 5, Tri-City 4 (10): Daniel Wasinger doubled in a run in the top of the 10th inning and the visiting Hops (4-1) edged the Dust Devils (1-4). Kristian Robinson, the Arizona Diamondbacks No. 5 prospect, went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for Hillsboro.

Tacoma 3, Round Rock (AAA) 1: Shed Long homered and the Rainiers (34-38) beat the Express (42-29). Akeem Bostick (L, 4-3) struck out seven and allowed two earned runs on three hits and three walks for Round Rock.

Tulsa 8, Frisco (AA) 2: DJ Peters went 2 for 4 with a two-run homer and the Drillers (38-32) topped the RoughRiders (33-37). Christian Lopes homered while Charles Leblanc and Chuck Moorman had two hits apiece for Frisco.

Down East (High-A): Off for Carolina League All-Star Game. OF Leody Taveras (6) went 2 for 5 with an RBI, 3B Ryan Dorow went 2 for 3 with a run, 3B Diosbel Arias (19) went 0 for 2, 2B Yonny Hernandez went 0 for 4 with a run. Starter Jason Bahr struck out one in a scoreless inning,

Hickory (Low-A): Off for South Atlantic League All-Star Game. 1B Curtis Terry went 1 for 2 and won the pregame home run derby. 3B Jonathan Ornelas (18) went 2 for 4 with a run, CF Pedro Gonzalez went 2 for 2 with a run and RBI. P Yerry Rodriguez gave up one hit in a scoreless inning.
