Dairy Queen giving away free ice cream cones Friday for first day of summer

In staying cool for the summer – thank you, Demi Lovato! – Dairy Queen is offering free ice cream cones – vanilla, chocolate dipped or Dreamsicle (orange sherbet and vanilla) – to celebrate the first day of summer, which is tomorrow, aka Friday, June 21, 2019.

Because nothing in life is free, except for maybe air, there are two stipulations to get your complimentary dessert at DQ: 1) You gotta have a coupon that’s available via the DQ app and 2) you gotta purchase another item.

Is it really that big of an inconvenience to buy, say, a fish sandwich to get dessert? Nah. DQ said cones are limited to one per customer. Looks like Friday lunch plans are set.
