Minor League Report: Thursday’s Northwest League and Texas Rangers affiliate results

Spokane 8, Salem-Keizer 3: The Indians (5-2) managed just three base runners – all singles – against three Volcanoes pitchers in a 6-0 loss in the finale of a four-game Northwest League series at Volcanoes Stadium on Thursday.

Jacob Lopez struck out six in five one-hit innings and Sean Roby went 3 for 4 with two RBIs for S-K (4-3).

Jonah McReynolds, Luis Asuncion and Kenen Irizarry had base hits for Spokane, which didn’t advanced a runner to second.

Everett 7, Boise 2 (10): Cash Gladfelter hit a two-run triple and later scored in a five-run 10th inning and the AquaSox (3-4) beat the Hawks (3-4). Patrick Frick went 2 with two RBIs and Trent Tingelstad went 2 for 5 with two RBIs for Everett.

Tri-City 6, Hillsboro 5: Tyler Benson walked and later scored on a sacrifice bunt by Reinaldo Ilarraza in the bottom of the eighth and the Dust Devils (3-4) edged the visiting Hops (4-3). Matthew Acosta hit a bases-loaded wind-aided double in the second inning for Tri-City.

Eugene 3, Vancouver 0: Zach Mort, the Chicago Cubs eighth-round pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, struck out four over six shutout innings and the Emeralds (4-3) blanked the Canadians (2-5). Mort allowed two hits and one walk. Catcher Jonathan Soto went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs.

New Orleans 6, Nashville 2: Isan Diaz went 2 for 3 with two solo home runs and the Baby Cakes (41-32) beat the visiting Sounds (28-44). Matt Davidson and Tyler Pill drove in runs for Nashville while Seth Maness took the loss, allowing five runs – four earned – on nine hits and a walk over seven innings.

Frisco (AA) 7, NW Arkansas 1: Blake Bass struck out four over three innings, Yoel Espinal allowed one run over four innings of relief and the visiting RoughRiders (34-38) beat the Naturals (33-38). Josh Altmann drive in a pair while Preston Beck and Juremi Profar had two hits apiece for Frisco. Leody Taveras (6), promoted on Thursday, went 0 for 2 with a walk in his Double-A debut.

Salem at Down East (High-A): Suspended due to rain. Will resume Friday at 5 p.m. before the regularly scheduled game.

Charleston 2, Hickory (Low-A) 1: Eduardo Torreabla knocked in a pair of runs with a single in the second inning and the visiting RiverDogs (38-33) edged the Crawdads (41-36). Kole Enright homered while Sherten Apostel (22) and Jax Biggers had two hits apiece for Hickory. Tyree Thompson allowed two runs on six hits and three walks with two strikeouts over five innings.
