Worker injured at Priest River lumber mill

A Bonner County man was airlifted to a hospital Tuesday night with serious injuries after being trapped under a conveyer belt at work.

Bonner County Emergency Medical Services reported the man was injured Tuesday afternoon at the Stimson Lumber Co. lumber mill along Priest River. By the time medics arrived, the man was no longer trapped under the conveyor belt.

The man was taken by ambulance to Priest River airport, then by helicopter to Kootenai Health in Couer d’Alene, Bonner County officials said.
