Prep softball: Ashley Kaufman and Olivia Zufelt help Lake City sweep; complete league play undefeated

Idaho

Lake City 17, Lewiston 2: Ashley Kaufman struck out six and went 3 for 4 with a triple and four RBIs and the visiting Timberwolves (11-0) defeated the Bengals (3-7) in the first game of an 5A Inland Empire League doubleheader on Wednesday. Olivia Zufelt went 2 for 3 with two runs and three RBIs for Lake City.

Lake City 17, Lewiston 7: Olivia Zufelt went 3 for 4 with two home runs and five RBIs and the Timberwolves (12-0) swept the Bengals (8-8) to complete league play undefeated. The 5A District 1-2 tournament starts on Tuesday at Lake City HS

Nonleague

East Valley 6, Chewelah 2: Maddie Camyn went 3 for 3 with and RBI and the visiting Knights (4-7) beat the Cougars in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader on Wednesday. Emma Glore knocked in two runs for East Valley. Leah Carpenter homered in the first inning for Chewelah.

East Valley at Chewelah: Abby Brake 2 for 4 with three RBIs and struck out three in a complete game and the Knights (5-7) swept the Cougars in a nonleague doubleheader.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 11, Riverside 1: Kaylin Olson and Kelcee Carlson drove in three runs apiece and the Broncos (8-9) downed the visiting Rams (1-13) in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 11, Riverside 1: Camera Wolf went 2 for 4 with three RBIs and the Broncos (9-9) swept the visiting Rams (1-14).

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 24: Northport 0: Sarah Bradshaw struck out nine over four innings and went 4 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs and the Warriors blanked the Mustangs in the first game of a nonleague doubleheader on Wednesday. Gabi Issak went 3 for 5 with two RBIs and Des Schmauder added two hits and drove in three.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 36: Northport 1: Mckenna Oliver went 2 for 4 with a homer, four runs and four RBIs and the Warriors swept the Mustangs. Sarah Bradshaw struck out seven in a complete-game two-hitter, Kendall Correia went 4 for 5 with three RBIs and Gabi Isaak hit a homer and had two RBIs for ACH.
