Make memories with mom this Mother’s Day

For the mother who has everything, or the mother who’s difficult to shop for, choosing the perfect Mother’s Day gift can be a challenge.

There are plenty of thoughtful presents out there, but memories last far longer.

Consider treating the mother figure in your life to one of these Mother’s Day events this year.

Spring Release: Visit the Cliff House Estate, 4705 N. Fruit Hill Road, or Arbor Crest at the Historic Davenport, 10 S. Post St., for a chance to enjoy some of the winery’s newest releases. On Sunday, father-daughter duo One Street Over will perform at 5:30 p.m. The concert is $12. Friday and Saturday, noon-5 p.m. and Sunday, noon-8 p.m.

Mother’s Day Weekend at Silverwood Theme Park: This weekend, families who purchase their tickets online or at the front gate will get a free ticket for mom. Plus, everyone will receive special pricing: $38 for general admission and $21 for youth/seniors. Boulder Beach isn’t open yet, but rides like Aftershock, Corkscrew, the Ferris wheel, Panic Plunge and Spin Cycle are up and running. Silverwood Theme Park, 27843 N. Highway 95, Athol, Idaho.

“Listen to Your Mother”: “Being a mom, having a mom, losing a mom, finding a mom” – We’ve all got a mom-related story. Every year since 2011, Stacey Conner and Elise Raimi of Creativity Spokane have invited women and men to share those stories as part of “Listen to Your Mother,” Sunday at the Bing Crosby Theater, 901 W. Sprague Ave. Ten percent of ticket sales benefit FosterWA, which provides innovative programs for foster children and families and helps build relationships with state welfare agencies and community partners. $20.

Mother’s Day Brunch: In Coeur d’Alene, enjoy brunch at Dockside and Beverly’s at the Coeur d’Alene Resort, 115 S. Second St., Coeur d’Alene. On the menu at Beverly’s: made-to-order omelettes, crepes, a carving station, salads, fruit, seafood, brunch items and sushi. Overnight packages are available. In Spokane, there’s limited seating still available for the Mother’s Day Brunch at the Historic Davenport Hotel, 10 S. Post St. Cost is $69.95 per adult and $24.95 for children 6-12. Wine and Music Festival: A weekend of music at Bridge Press Cellars, 39 W. Pacific Ave. On Friday, the Zach T. Cooper Band and Sammy Eubanks and the Working Class will perform, beginning at 6 p.m. On Saturday, Bobby Patterson will perform on the patio from 1-5 p.m., followed by the Sara Brown Trio. The Blue Mustangs will take the ballroom stage at 8 p.m. On Sunday, Pat Barclay and Side Step will close out the weekend from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Mother’s Day Champagne Brunch: Stop by Immaculate Heart Retreat Center, 6910 S. Ben Burr Road, for an all-you-can-eat champagne brunch featuring carving stations, omelets to order, French toast, a variety of salads, fresh fruit, a variety of cheeses and a dessert bar. Mother’s Day Brunch and Bubbly Cooking Class: Enjoy a mimosa or non-alcoholic beverage while learning how to make cranberry-orange scones at Commellini Estate, 14715 N. Dartford Drive. After the lesson, enjoy a meal featuring citrus fennel salad, Commellini’s Tuscan Farmers breakfast, chocolate-covered strawberries and hand-rolled chocolate truffles. Each participant will receive a recipe card to take home. Sunday, 10 a.m. $50.

Mother’s Day with Mobius: Children can stop by Mobius Children’s Museum, 808 W. Main Ave., on Sunday and make a bouquet of flowers out of tissue paper, egg cartons and more. All moms, grandmas and aunts receive $2 off admission. Activity is free with museum admission.

A Mother’s Day Concert in the Park: Pack a lunch, bring a chair and enjoy a performance from the North Idaho College Wind Symphony and Chamber Singers in Coeur d’Alene City Park, 415 Fort Grounds Drive, Coeur d’Alene. Sunday, 2 p.m.

Mother’s Day Tour: For the 30th year, the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, 2316 W. First Ave., presents the Mother’s Day Tour of historic homes. This weekend’s tour, Saturday and Sunday from noon-4 p.m., is called “Rockwood: A Distinct Quality of Luxury.” The tour features five homes in the Rockwood neighborhood, all in a variety of architectural styles and built dates. $15 for members and $20 for non-members.

Mother’s Day Flower Arranging Workshop: Stop by Parrish & Grove, 19 W. Main Ave., Sunday from 2-4 p.m. to make a bouquet for your mom, with your mom. Parrish & Grove will lead attendees through the process of creating floral arrangements. $45.

Mother’s Day Celebration at Riverfront Park: This Mother’s Day, moms will receive a free day pass to all Riverfront Park attractions, plus spa specials from Aveda and free tomato plants from Tomato Street. Park attractions include one hour skate or scooter rental, three minutes on the Spider Jump, SkyRide admission, unlimited Looff Carrousel rides and a mimosa bar at the Sky Ribbon Café ($5 per drink). Aveda, from 1-3 p.m., will offer stress relieving treatments, hand, neck, shoulder and scalp massages, and facial and in-store coupons. Tomato Street, also from 1-3 p.m., will have free tomato plants, while supplies last, and free kids crafts.
