Prep boys soccer: Jadon Bowton comes up big in shootout and Ferris wins 4A district title

Ferris 1, Pasco 0: Jadon Bowton made two saves in a shootout and the fourth-seeded Saxons (16-2-0) beat the Bulldogs (13-4-0) in the District 8 4A championship game at Edgar Brown Stadium. Both teams qualified for state. Tyler Holland, Nate Owen and Liam Kelly each scored during the shootout for Ferris.

Gonzaga Prep 4, Central Valley 3: JD Layman scored the game-winning goal in overtime and the visiting eighth-seeded Bulldogs (11-9-0) eliminated the second-seeded Bears (12-3-0) in the District 8 4A third-place game to earn a berth to state. G-Prep led 3-0 at half but CV tied it in the 78th minute on a goal by Taylor Leach to send it to OT.

Kamiakin 1, Mt. Spokane 0: The Braves (11-5-0) eliminated the Wildcats (8-11-0) in a shootout at Lampson Stadium in Kennewick. Nolan Seigal made five saves to get Mt. Spokane to the shootout.

Grandview 4, Cheney 1: Justin Jacobo scored two goals and the visiting Greyhounds (12-4-1) eliminated the Blackhawks (14-3-0) in a District 5/7 2A crossover. Noah Schorzman scored in the 63rd minute for Cheney.

Ellensburg 3, Clarkston 2: The Bulldogs (11-7-0) eliminated the visiting Bantams (10-6-0) in a District 5/7 2A crossover.

Lakeside 6, Chelan 0: Lucas Ousley scored two goals with an assist and the Eagles (17-0-1) beat the Mountain Goats (8-10-0) in a District 6/7 crossover at Spokane Falls Community College. Lakeside advances to state against Royal on Tuesday.

Bridgeport 5, Medical Lake 1: Osvaldo Orozco scored two goals and assisted on a third and the Mustangs (15-2-0) eliminated the Cardinals (5-9-0) in a District 6/7 1A crossover at SFCC.
