State boys soccer: Gonzaga Prep ousted from 4A, Lakeside advances in 1A

Federal Way 2, Gonzaga Prep 1: Joel Hernandez and Alexiz Alvarez each scored and the Eagles (17-3-0) eliminated the visiting Bullpups (12-9-0) in the first round of the 4A State tournament. Michael Torre evened the game in the 43rd minute for G-Prep but Alvarez scored the difference-maker 9 minutes later.

Lakeside 2, Royal 1: Lukas Ousley and Ethan Williams each scored and the Eagles (19-0-1) eliminated the visiting Knights (11-5-2) in the first round of the 1A State tournament at Lakeside MS. Lakeside plays Cascade in the quarterfinals.
