Prep softball: Trinity Richardson comes up big late for Shadle Park in 3A district win

Trinity Richardson went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and visiting Shadle Park eliminated Mt. Spokane 6-2 in eight innings in a District 8 3A softball loser-out on Wednesday.

Richardson hit a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning that sent the game to extra innings and had a two-out, two-run single in a four-run eighth. Chloe Flerchinger allowed seven hits and two runs in a complete game.

The Highlanders (13-5) face top-seeded Kennewick in a loser-out on Friday at Rocky Heights Elementary in Hermiston, Oregon at 3 p.m. The winner faces Hermiston in the district second-place game at 5 p.m. for a berth to state.

Kennewick 12, Rogers 0: Claire Jenne and Kenzie Richards combined to throw a no-hitter and the Lions (14-6) eliminated the Pirates (2-14) in a loser-out at Kennewick Fields. Jenne had eight strikeouts and one walk over three innings for Kennewick.
