State boys soccer: Caden Martin scores twice, Ferris reaches quarterfinals

Ferris 3, Auburn Mountainview 0: Caden Martin scored two goals and the Saxons (17-2-0) beat the visiting Lions (9-8-3) in a State 4A first-round match on Wednesday.

The Saxons advance to host Pasco (14-4-0) in a quarterfinal on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Martin scored in the 35th minute to give Ferris a 1-0 lead at intermission and added an insurance marker in the 73rd minute.

Jadon Bowton finished with eight saves, including a stop of a penalty kick after a handball in the area early in the second half.
