Teen on bike sustains minor injuries after clipping Central Valley School District bus

From staff reports

A 17-year-old sustained minor injuries after hitting a Central Valley School District bus Friday morning while riding his bike.

The teenage boy was riding his bike south on University Road in the northbound lane, when the bus pulled out from 12th Avenue, said Cpl. Mark Gregory, spokesman for the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. The two collided and the teenager sustained minor injuries.

“Just scrapes and bruises,” said Gregory.

Marla Nunberg, spokesman for Central Valley School District, said the bus was picking up students from their home and headed to Bowdish Middle School. There were two kids on board at the time of the crash.

No other injuries were reported.
