Texas motorcyclist dies in I-90 crash near Ritzville

A man from Texas hospitalized at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center after a motorcycle crash on May 5 has died, the Washington State Patrol reported.

Eloy Benavidez, 65, of Fort Worth, Texas, was riding a Harley-Davidson eastbound on Interstate 90 about 12 miles west of Ritzville when he lost control while changing lanes in a construction zone, WSP said.

WSP said impairment from drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash. Benavidez was wearing a helmet.
