State boys soccer: Ferris, Lakeside fall in shootouts in third-place matches

Jackson 2, Ferris 1 (SO): Jake Olson scored early in the second half to even it and the Timberwolves (19-2-1) won a lengthy shootout to beat the Saxons (18-4-0) 2-1 in the State 4A third-place game at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup on Saturday.

Caden Martin opened the scoring for Ferris with a volley from 25 yards out that dipped just under the crossbar.

Overlake 2, Lakeside 1 (SO): Overlake (15-3-4) outscored Lakeside (20-2-1) 4-3 in a shootout in the State 1A third-place game at Sunset Stadium in Sumner.
