SEATTLE – Seattle Storm guard Sue Bird underwent arthroscopic surgery on her left knee, though there remains no word on whether she can return this season.

Bird had surgery on Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut. The team says once Bird is cleared to travel, she will return to Seattle to continue her rehabilitation.

Bird announced last week she had a loose body in her knee that was affecting her ability to sprint and jump, and needed surgery to repair the problem. She was on the bench for Seattle’s season-opening win over Phoenix on Saturday when the team received its 2018 WNBA championship rings during a pregame ceremony.

The 11-time All-Star missed the 2013 season after undergoing surgery to remove a cyst from her left knee.
