UPDATED: Mon., Nov. 11, 2019
A man died after he was struck Saturday evening by a vehicle driven by a woman in the Moran Prairie area, according to Spokane police.
The crash occurred in the 4800 block of South Palouse Highway just before 5:40 p.m., according to a news release. Spokane Police Sgt. Kyle Yrigollen said Sunday the man who was struck died of his injuries after he was taken to a hospital following the collision.
Yrigollen did not identify the driver or the man killed, saying the identity of the deceased would be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The female driver showed no signs of impairment at the time of the crash, Yrigollen said. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene during the preliminary investigation.
South Palouse Highway was shut down between South Regal Street and East Thor Street during the investigation and lanes didn’t begin reopening until about 9 p.m., KHQ reported.
