A house fire Tuesday evening in Spokane Valley was quickly contained by fire crews after a family evacuated the home.
Spokane Valley Fire Department received reports of a fire at about 6:30 p.m. on the 11200 block of East 33rd Avenue.
The residents of the home saw the fire in an upstairs bedroom and called 911. No one was injured in the fire.
An ambulance and 12 fire trucks responded to the scene and were able to knock down the fire before entering the house.
“It was confined mostly into one bedroom,” said Shawn Pichette, Spokane Valley Fire Department spokesman.
The damage to the rest of the home was minimal, Pichette said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
