The Deer Park Rotary Club recently honored the September students of the month from Deer Park, Riverside and Mary Walker high schools. The students are Molly Keller, Liam Ross and Samantha Donahue.

Keller, a Deer Park High School student, was chosen as student of the month for her involvement in various activities and leadership groups, the Rotary said in a news release. She serves as ASB president and is a member of both Key Club and DECA. Her favorite subject is business and marketing, and she plans to study business at Montana State University. Last year her involvement in the school’s student-run businesses helped gross more than $60,000.

Ross is student body president of Riverside High School and has worked to change his school culture to get more students involved in school activities, the release said. His love of baseball has led him to potentially pursue baseball scholarships and to join the FM Sports baseball team in Seattle. Ross also enjoys the outdoors, giving him interest in the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. He also enjoys welding and takes an advanced welding course.

Donahue, of Mary Walker High School in Springdale, Wash., is a member of the National Honor Society and is student body president of her school. She is heavily involved in programs working for substance abuse prevention, the release said. Ross enjoys playing softball and volleyball as well as studying English composition, calculus and financial math. She plans to attend Montana State University to study elementary education and developmental psychology.
