The man who died after crashing into a roundabout in Liberty Lake on Tuesday has been identified as 46-year-old Bryan Lee Powell.

Powell died from partial amputation of his lower left extremity due to a blunt impact, according to the Spokane County Medical Examiner.

He also had pelvic, rib and spine fractures, the medical xaminer said.

Liberty Lake Police responded around 3 a.m. Tuesday to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Mission Avenue and Harvest Parkway.

A red truck was resting on top of the brick roundabout in the intersection. Powell was the only occupant.

Police believe speed and alcohol caused the accident and said the driver was not wearing his seat belt.
