Higgins Point Overlook will be unveiled

From staff reports

A spot along the Spokane River will be dedicated to a former longtime community leader.

The Higgins Point Overlook will be unveiled Oct. 17 at 4 p.m.

The city of Spokane Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Greenstone and the Spokane Association of Realtors, have laid plans for the project honoring former West Central Community Center Director Don Higgins for his contributions to the West Central Neighborhood.

The overlook offers prime viewing of the Spokane River along the Centennial Trail toward the west end of the Kendall Yards, a news release said.

The site can be accessed by taking the Centennial Trail about two-tenths of a mile west from the corner of Ohio and Nettleton streets.
