Spokane fire crews fight blaze on roof of north Spokane home

Spokane Fire Department crews responded to a house fire on the 400 block of East Kiernan Avenue and evacuated two people at about 6:45 p.m. Thursday.
About a dozen fire vehicles were on scene as firefighters battled flames spouting from the roof of the building in north Spokane.
Firefighters were accessing the fire through a hole in the roof after flames were no longer visible from the exterior of the building at about 7:40 p.m., KHQ reported. The home was still smoking after crews knocked down the flames.
The fire spread to the attic and the roof after apparently starting near the rear of the home, KHQ reported. The two people inside were uninjured.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, KHQ reported.
