Wed., Oct. 16, 2019

The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service, or SCRAPS, is investigating the physical abuse of a cat found near Logan Elementary School Tuesday.
The cat, named Achilles, suffered a dislocated pelvis and right hip after a witness said the cat was kicked by students in alleyway near the school on East Montgomery Avenue, according to SCRAPS. Achilles has about a 50% chance of recovering.
The witness said Achilles had been an affectionate community cat, according to SCRAPS.
People with information about Achilles’ injuries can contact SCRAPS at scraps@spokanecounty.org or (509) 477-2532.
