Proud of Prep

I am so proud of my alma mater, Gonzaga Prep, for extending an invitation to astronaut Anne McClain to address its student body along with students from the Catholic elementary schools.

I am so ashamed of those schools (especially Cataldo, her alma mater) who refused to allow their students a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear this very accomplished native of Spokane.

They can make up all the phony reasons they want, but we all know why the children were not allowed to attend. The Board of Governors of these schools does the bidding of our ridiculously conservative Bishop, Thomas Daly, who is leading our diocese straight back into the 1950’s. Is the Latin Mass next?
