A house fire in Palouse closed state Highway 27 Monday morning.
The Palouse Fire Department received reports of a fire at 805 Division Street at about 4:30 a.m.
Firefighters closed the road immediately, said Palouse Fire Chief Scott Beeson.
One lane reopened at 8:30 a.m., according to the Washington State Patrol.
The two-story home sustained extensive damage, but the occupants were able to get out safely, Beeson said.
