Turnbull refuge work party scheduled

Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge and the Spokane Audubon Society and Friends of Turnbull will host a work party Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Work will focus on restoring riparian habitat. Volunteers will plant native saplings and erect fencing to protect the trees from deer, elk and moose.

Please call in advance to register. Hamburgers, hot dogs and vegetarian options will be provided. Feel free to bring a favorite dish.
