Republican irony
Experts? We don’t need no stinking experts! Now our very lives depend solely on the knowledge and wisdom only experts can provide.
Socialism? They claimed Bernie Sanders’ socialism was a threat to our way of life. Now the nation’s economic future depends on government bailouts through socialistic economic rescue policy. I wonder how many Republicans, free-market purists, and Wall Street firms will turn down government financial help.
Preparedness? They claim it is too expensive to maintain departments and offices dedicated to future planning. Now we suffer due to an utter lack of governmental preparedness and lives will be lost as a result. This is America … and we find ourselves hopelessly unprepared!
If you think we can survive more of this nonsense you are wrong. BS is no substitute for governmental policy. Good government requires expertise, an active governmental role in the lives of citizens, and constant planning for future events that may impact the lives of Americans. Pretending everything is fine when all evidence suggests otherwise is suicide.
It is time to reject the view that we can ignore reality, ignore science, beat our chests, and boast our way to the future.
