Enjoy our beautiful park

Its no fun for anyone these days to be pretty much confined to your home except for some necessary shopping and exercise. If you’re fortunate enough to be able to get out and

get some exercise and fresh air I urge you to take a trip downtown and walk through Riverfront Park.

Recently my wife and I had the pleasure of walking through and around our beautifully renovated and updated Riverfront Park. As most know it’s been a treasure since 1974, but with the major updates and renewal there’s even more to see and experience. On the far north part, across from the arena you’ll see the final stages of the renovation along with maps and descriptions of what’ s currently under construction. As you head east at the far north portion of the park you’ll see the new Sportsplex being constructed and underway. It’s really something to see. It’s HUGE.

Whether you stroll, run or walk through the park, take the time to head west across Post Street and walk through Huntington Park. This is a treasure owned and maintained by Avista but essentially gifted to the city. It’s a beautifully landscaped and hardscaped treasure.

These are trying times for all; taking an hour or more to enjoy these treasures right at your fingertips shouldn’t be missed.

By the way, you’ll find plenty of parking, too.
