Key Tronic Corp. temporarily closes Mexico production facility amid COVID-19

Spokane Valley-based electronics manufacturing company Key Tronic Corp. temporarily closed its production facility in Juarez, Mexico because of coronavirus-related restrictions that could last until May 30.

The Mexican government began closing facilities it considers non-essential last week, including Key Tronic’s Juarez facility. Key Tronic is classified as an essential business under U.S. regulations, according to a company release.

Key Tronic is petitioning the Mexican government to reopen the facility.

The company’s financial results could be “materially and adversely affected” by the shutdown, according to the release.

Keytronic is a contract manufacturer with facilities in the United States, Mexico, Canada and Vietnam.
