Spirit Lake man dies in ATV crash Saturday night

A Spirit Lake man died Saturday night after becoming pinned beneath an ATV, police said. 

James Brown, 63, was found unresponsive beneath an ATV at the intersection of 3rd Avenue and Rhode Island Street in Spirit Lake at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to a Spirit Lake Police Department news release. Medics tried to revive Brown, but were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at the scene before 10 p.m.

An investigation into the incident is continuing, according to the news release.
