Idaho man dies in one-car crash in Hayden

A Coeur d’Alene resident died Tuesday night when his car careened into roadside trees in Hayden.

Ronald M. Curry, 40, lost control of his BMW M5 while traveling east on East Orchard Avenue and failed to navigate the intersection with North Maple Street, launching the car into the air, according to a press release issued by the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday morning

Curry was pronounced dead at the scen.

The 21-year-old passenger, Jakob P. Trautuetter, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Kootenai Health.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Alcohol and a high rate of speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
