Outdoors contributor Angela Schneider finalist for national awards
Wed., Dec. 9, 2020

Angela Schneider, who writes a monthly column about hiking with dogs for The Spokesman-Review, is a finalist in four categories of the national Dog Writers Association of America writing competition.
Her work goes up against other writers and photographers in four categories: Newspaper Article - Art or Any Topic; Online Article or Blog - Any Topic; Single Photo’ and Photo Series.
The newspaper article she submitted featured Dexter, a puggle whose owners were grieving his loss by remembering adventures on the hiking trails of the Inland Northwest.
“I love being recognized by my peers but it is so incredibly fulfilling to share the stories of dogs and dog lovers like me,” Schneider says.
A pet portrait photographer at Big White Dog Photography and recovering journalist, Schneider is also a part-time copy editor with The S-R. She was a three-time finalist in the 2019 DWAA competition awards but did not win any of the categories.
The winners will be announced during a virtual awards ceremony on Feb. 14.
