Police investigating shooting at 6th and Division that hospitalized two

Spokane police are investigating a shooting that injured two people Tuesday inside an apartment building near Sixth Avenue and Division Street.

The incident was reported at about 4:20 p.m. by a man who said he and another person had been shot at while inside an apartment at 500 S. Division St. Police found two victims with obvious injuries inside the apartment building near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Police did not know if a shooter remained at large or if one of the people who had been shot was involved.

Police secured the scene and Major Crimes Unit detectives took over the investigation. Investigators were in the process of getting a search warrant for the apartment.
