Californian killed by semitruck while walking on I-90 in Post Falls

A 22-year-old pedestrian from California was struck and killed by semitruck while walking on westbound I-90 in Post Falls Thursday night.

Idaho State Police do not know why Eduardo Quezada-Pelayo, of Hesperia, California, was walking on the highway, according to a news release. Quezada-Pelayo was in the right lane when the crash occurred just after 7 p.m.

Steven L. Cotton, 65, of Spokane Valley was driving the Freightliner semitruck that hit him, according to a news release. Quezada-Pelayo was transported to Kootenai Health and pronounced dead.

Police ask that eople who witnessed the incident to contact Trooper Max Mohr at (208)209-8730.
