Fresh on the heels – or is it cowboy boots? – of Blake Shelton’s “Friends and Heroes 2020 Tour” stop at the Spokane Arena on Saturday night, more country artists have been announced to take the stage at the Arena.

Chris Young and guests Scotty McCreery and Payton Smith are headlining the Arena on May 7 with their “Town Ain’t Big Enough World Tour 2020,” and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at ticketswest.com.

After a record year on the road in 2019 performing to more than 400,000 fans on his headlining tour, multiplatinum-selling entertainer Young has announced his arena and amphitheater “Town Ain’t Big Enough World Tour 2020” with “American Idol” alumnus McCreery and up-and-comer Smith.

“Everyone has been asking about this year since the last tour ended, so I’m happy I finally get to tell everybody about these shows,” Young said in a news release. “The ‘Town Ain’t Big Enough Tour’ is gonna be the biggest one yet!”

The ACM- and Grammy-nominated vocalist celebrated several milestones in 2019, including more than 2 billion streams and a career-topping 21,500 fans at BB&T Pavilion in Philadelphia. After ending his headlining tour in November, Young closed the decade with appearances at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and on “CMA Country Christmas” and “CMT Crossroads With Gavin DeGraw.”

Young started 2020 with the launch of his weekly podcast, “The Quad With Chris Young.” The new year also will bring a new album, including current single “Drowning,” named to Rolling Stone’s Best Country and Americana Songs of 2019, plus “Raised On Country” and “Town Ain’t Big Enough,” featuring another “Idol” alumnus, Lauren Alaina, who is part of the “Friends and Heroes 2020 Tour” with Shelton.

McCreery began his country music career after winning Season 10 of “American Idol” in 2011 (Alaina was his runner-up). His debut studio album, “Clear as Day,” was released in October 2011 and was certified platinum in the United States. The album includes the Top 20 country songs “I Love You This Big” and “The Trouble With Girls.” In January 2018, “Five More Minutes” became McCreery’s first No. 1 hit on the country singles charts.
