A man died after his pickup truck rolled and he was thrown from the vehicle Tuesday night near Airway Heights, according to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies, firefighters, paramedics and an Airway Heights police officer responded to the crash scene on Rambo Road at about 7:45 p.m.
The sheriff’s office said an initial review of the scene indicated the driver had been speeding southbound in a Chevy pickup truck when the vehicle drifted onto the shoulder.
The driver overcorrected, crossed the roadway onto the other shoulder and overcorrected again, causing the vehicle to roll, the sheriff’s office said.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office said he had not been wearing a seatbelt. His name was not released.
