15-year-old stabbing suspect arrested after overnight knife fight in Pullman on Sunday

An overnight knife fight in Pullman sent one teenager to the hospital Sunday and another to jail.

Pullman police were called to a gas station on Grand Avenue just after 2 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from the Pullman Police Department. A 17-year-old male had received stab wounds to his abdomen, according to police. He was taken to Pullman Regional Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

A 15-year-old later called police and turned himself in for the alleged assault. That teenager was booked into Martin Hall juvenile detention facility in Medical Lake and faces a second-degree assault charge, a felony.

Pullman police did not identify the suspect or the victim, who are both minors. They both lived in Pullman and knew each other prior to the attack, police said.
