Reward offered for man suspected of stealing handgun from Spokane Valley pawn shop

UPDATED: Tue., Jan. 21, 2020

From staff reports

Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of a man suspected of stealing a handgun from a Spokane Valley pawn shop in early January.

Employees at American Pawn and Gun on East Sprague Avenue reported a firearm was stolen from the store after video footage from Jan. 7 showed a man entering the store, looking at several items and reaching over the counter to take a Rossi .357 revolver when an employee couldn’t see, according to a news release.

The man then put the gun in his pocket, had an extended conversation with an employee and left the store, according to a news release.

Employees later noticed the handgun was missing and reported the theft on Jan. 10, according to a news release.

The suspect is described as a 6-foot-2-inch white male in his late 30s weighing between 220 and 240 pounds with brown head and facial hair. Police say he drove a white, late 1990s to early 2000s Toyota Tacoma.
