Rite Aid opens COVID-19 testing in Eastern Washington
Beginning this week, Rite Aid has expanded its COVID-19 testing program to include some Eastern Washington locations.
The added sites, which include Spokane Valley and Division Street stores, offer self-swab nasal tests that will be overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists. The testing is offered at no cost to adults, but they must preregister online at riteaid.com to schedule a drive-thru service time.
Adults can register regardless of whether they are experiencing virus symptoms, the retailer said in a news release. Testing is available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
At all testing sites, those being tested must show government-issued identification, be at least 18 and preregister. Rite Aid is partnering with Verily and its Baseline COVID-19 Testing Program to provide screening, scheduling and return of results to participants. BioReference Laboratories provides COVID-19 Laboratory testing.
PWNHealth, a national clinician network, is providing clinical oversight for the testing program.
Rite Aid on Thursday opened 161 additional testing locations for a total of 258, expanding into Washington, California and Oregon in partnership with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In Idaho, Boise-area and McCall stores offer the testing program, but none is yet available in North Idaho .
