Bus crash near Harrison injures 5 people
A bus crashed on Highway 97 north of Harrison, Idaho, on Sunday evening, injuring five people, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash was reported just after 5:30 p.m., according to a news release. The bus had left the road at Highway 97 and Asbury Road. Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters found a bus with 10 people inside, five of whom had received injuries. There were taken to Kootenai Health by medical personnel for injuries not thought to be life-threatening, according to the release.
The bus is believed to have had a mechanical problem before the crash. The bus was being used by a family and was not affiliated with an organization, the Sheriff’s Office said.
An investigation into the incident is continuing. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been involved in the crash.
